Thanks to their range capabilities, long service life and intelligent battery management system (BMS) that protects the battery from damage, they are among the most modern and safest on the market.

PowerPack batteries
Versatile power sources: PowerPacks from Bosch are visibly mounted on the frame or rear rack of the eBike. Charging works quite simply for both variants. To charge with a Bosch Charger, the PowerPacks can be removed with just a couple of movements or conveniently charged directly on the bike. The high-quality, long-life frame or rack batteries from Bosch offer high energy density with compact size and low weight.
PowerPack Frame
PowerPack Frame batteries sit on the outside of the eBike frame, on the seat tube or down tube. They have a handle, so you can remove and carry them easily and conveniently.
All PowerPacks Frame in the smart system have the same mount. Therefore, you can easily insert a different battery, if the geometry of your eBike allows. Smaller batteries reduce the weight, larger ones increase your range.
The PowerPack 800 Frame is available in the smart system. The battery will be available for retrofitting at specialist eBike dealers from autumn 2024.
PowerPack Rack
PowerPacks of the Rack variant sit on or under the rear rack. This battery position has advantages for eBikes with a step-through frame – for example, more freedom when mounting and dismounting. In addition, the powerful batteries can be easily and conveniently attached and removed, thanks to their higher position on the eBike. The greater distance from the ground additionally protects them from splash water or impact from stones.
PowerPack 400 Rack and PowerPack 500 Rack are available in the smart system.

PowerTube and CompactTube batteries
For the highest demands on performance and esthetics: Bosch PowerTubes fit ideally into the clean design of the eBike – they are integrated in the frame tube. They come in two variants, horizontal or vertical. Both are installed directly by the manufacturer to match the specific eBike model. A safety catch prevents it from falling out. The batteries can be removed easily and conveniently, if designed to do so.
PowerTube
Discreetly integrated in the frame tube, the high-quality power sources are hardly noticeable. Bosch offers many PowerTube variants with different energy content in the smart system and Bosch eBike system 2. This way, you are prepared for any task – whether performance riding with the eMTB on the trail, riding uphill with a loaded Cargo eBike, or on a shorter, everyday ride in the city.
CompactTube 400
Slim, integrated, compact, and with 400 watt hours at a weight of just around 4.4 pounds, it's a real energy champion: the CompactTube 400 with innovative battery cell technology offers the highest energy density of all Bosch eBike batteries. This makes the extra-light battery the ideal choice for performance light eMTBs, minimalist gravel eBikes or design-oriented urban eBikes – this battery is for anyone who loves the sleek look of conventional bikes and wants electric support.

Battery combinations and additional batteries – one battery on its own is not always enough. Cargo eBikes put a lot of strain on the battery due to their higher weight, especially with a heavy load on board. DualBattery
Use two batteries at once – for even more range: DualBattery is ideal if you want to travel long distances or ride an eBike that uses more energy, e.g. a Cargo eBike or speed eBike.
In the smart system, the combination of two PowerPacks Frame 800 gives you a total of 1,600 watt hours – allowing you to drive up to 300 km*! In the Bosch eBike system, the combination of two batteries delivers up to 1,250 watt hours.
In the smart system, you can now also combine two batteries that do not correspond to the same design: e.g. an integrated battery (PowerTube) with a frame battery (PowerPack Frame).

Range Extender: PowerMore 250
Portable energy reserve: PowerMore 250 is the water bottle-sized additional battery for even more range and longer lasting fun on the trail. Compact and weighing just 3.3 pounds, the Range Extender can easily be secured to the water bottle holder. The Range Extender can be combined with all batteries of the smart system. FAQs & more
The range of the Bosch eBike batteries depends on many different factors.
To achieve the highest possible range, consider the following:
Battery & temperature: As the temperature decreases, the performance of a battery temporarily decreases as the electrical resistance increases. In winter, a reduction in the usual range can therefore be expected.
Cadence: Cadences between 60-90 revolutions per minute are ideal.
Starting & braking: Just like with a car, frequent starting and braking are less economical than riding long distances at a steady speed.
Gear shifting: Correct gear shifting also makes eBiking more efficient: It is best to start and take inclines in low gear, shift up according to the terrain and speed.
Tire pressure: In order to maximize the range, ride with the maximum permissible tire pressure.
Weight: The weight should be minimized, the total weight of the bike and load should not be unnecessarily high.

When purchasing used batteries, it is essential to ensure that these are taken on without any damage from their previous owner. Damaged batteries are offered online from time to time; these pose a high risk and can lead to dangerous malfunctions. Sometimes, illegal goods e.g., from thefts, are offered online as well. No ownership can be legally acquired in such goods in accordance with section 935 of the German Civil Code.
You can hand in your old or defective eBike battery free of charge at any bicycle retailer, who will forward it for environmentally friendly recycling. You do not need to purchase a new battery to use this service.
Please note that you should not touch severely damaged batteries with your bare hands, as electrolyte can leak out and cause skin irritation. Please store defective batteries in a safe place outdoors with the contacts taped off and take them to an approved bicycle retailer for correct disposal as soon as possible.
