In the event of theft, you can track your eBike's location live via GPS. The eBike Flow app allows you to see the eBike's position live on the map to enable you to find it again more easily.

Following a theft, you can digitally mark your eBike in the eBike Flow app. This will increase the chance of getting it back. This also applies to a stolen eBike battery.

The ConnectModule can be retrofitted, provided your eBike is set up for this. Your eBike dealer can check whether retrofitting is possible and fit the ConnectModule properly. Depending on the eBike model, it may also be possible to attach it directly to the frame.

What is the ConnectModule?

How can I protect my eBike from theft using Bosch’s smart system?

A bike lock remains the basic requirement. You can also lock the motor support for free, making your eBike less attractive to thieves, mark it as stolen, save important details in the eBike pass and use it to generate a digital theft report. Flow+ also provides digital protection for your eBike battery. To use the alarm on the eBike, receive notifications on your smartphone, access GPS tracking and view additional location data in the theft report, you need a ConnectModule and Flow+.

What extra benefits does Flow+ offer in terms of theft protection?

The free digital theft protection allows you to lock motor support, mark your eBike as stolen and generate a digital theft report. Flow+ also provides additional protection for your eBike battery. If your eBike is also fitted with a ConnectModule, it will respond to unexpected movements by emitting beeps and flashing lights, notify you via your smartphone and, in the event of theft, it can be located via GPS.

Are the first 12 months of Flow+ really free?

Yes, if you’re using Flow+ with a ConnectModule for the first time. You are entitled to a one-off twelve-month free trial period per account. This also applies if you have previously tested Flow+ for a month without a ConnectModule. Then you will have to pay to use it.

Does digital theft protection replace a mechanical lock?

No. Digital theft protection supplements a mechanical lock, but does not replace it. The ConnectModule and Flow+ will alert you in the event of an attempted theft and allow you to track the location of your eBike – though this won’t prevent the theft from occurring. So, always secure your eBike to a fixed object as well, using a suitable bike lock.

What is the difference between locking motor support and locking the eBike battery?

If motor support is locked, the eBike can still be ridden – but with no support. It will only be enabled again once your smartphone or a compatible display has been recognised as a digital key. The additional eBike battery protection ensures that a stolen battery cannot be used in any other eBike. You need Flow+ for that.

What do I need for the alarm on my eBike and GPS tracking?

You need an eBike fitted with the smart system, the eBike Flow app, a ConnectModule and Flow+. You can check in the eBike Flow app whether your eBike is already fitted with or set up for a ConnectModule. Find out here how to check this.

Can I track my eBike's location in real time?

Yes, in the event of theft. If your eBike is moved, you can track its location live via the eBike Flow app. You need a ConnectModule and Flow+ to do this. Your eBike is not tracked continuously.

What happens if my smartphone battery is flat?

Once activated, digital theft protection will remain active even if your smartphone’s battery is flat. Your eBike can still respond to movement by emitting beeps and flashing lights and determine its position. However, you will not be able to receive notifications, view the location in the app or use your smartphone as a digital key. If you have previously set up Kiox 300 or Kiox 500 as an additional key, you can use this to unlock your eBike. Alternatively, you can install the eBike Flow app on another smartphone and log in using your SingleKey ID.

Will I receive a notification if my eBike is moved?

If your eBike is moved, this will initially trigger a response with beeps and flashing lights. If it is moved further away or more forcefully, you will receive a message on your smartphone – even if you’re not close by. You need a ConnectModule and Flow+ to do this.
