Your eBike will be less appealing to thieves. This is because our digital functions make the most valuable components of your eBike unusable for others: The motor support gets blocked, and your battery will not work in any other eBike.¹

Reacting when it matters

If your eBike is moved unexpectedly, it immediately sounds an alarm — with beeps and flashing lights — to deter thieves. At the same time, you will receive a notification on your smartphone. That way, you won't waste any valuable time.¹

In the event of theft, you can track the location of your eBike live via GPS. If you mark it as stolen, it will be identified as stolen property. The digital theft report provides important information for the police.¹

The ConnectModule is a small component that is permanently installed on the eBike. Thanks to its own battery, GPS, mobile radio, and motion sensors, it will ensure that your eBike is always online and able to be located. In this way, it provides the technical basis for digital theft protection.¹

What is the ConnectModule?

How can I protect my eBike from theft using the smart system from Bosch?

A bike lock is still the foundation. In addition, you can lock the motor support for free, making your eBike less appealing to thieves, mark it as stolen, save important data in the eBike pass, and use it to create a digital theft report. With Flow+, you also have additional digital protection for your eBike battery. For eBike alarms, smartphone notifications, GPS tracking, and additional location data in the theft report, you'll need a ConnectModule and Flow+.

What additional benefits does Flow+ offer in terms of theft protection?

With the free digital theft protection, you can lock the motor support, mark your eBike as stolen, and create a digital theft report. With Flow+, you can provide additional protection for your eBike battery. If your eBike is also equipped with a ConnectModule, it will respond to unexpected movements with sounds and light signals, notify you via your smartphone, and can be located via GPS in the event of theft.

Are the first 12 months of Flow+ really free?

Yes, if this is your first time using Flow+ with the ConnectModule. You are eligible for the 12-month free trial period once per account. This also applies if you've previously tested Flow+ for one month without the ConnectModule. After that, continued use is subject to a fee.

Does digital theft protection replace a mechanical lock?

No. Digital theft protection complements a mechanical lock but does not replace it. With the ConnectModule and Flow+, you'll be alerted in the event of an attempted theft and can track the location of your eBike — though this won't prevent the theft. Therefore, always secure your eBike to a fixed object using a suitable bike lock.

What is the difference between locking the motor support and locking the eBike battery?

If the motor support is locked, you can still ride the eBike — but without support. It will not be unlocked again until your smartphone or a compatible display is recognized as a digital key. The additional protection for the eBike battery ensures that a stolen battery can no longer be used in any other eBike. To do that, you'll need Flow+.

What do I need for eBike alarms and GPS tracking?

You'll need an eBike equipped with the smart system, the eBike Flow App, a ConnectModule, and Flow+. In the eBike Flow app, you can check whether your eBike is already equipped with a ConnectModule or would be compatible with it. Find out how to check this here.

Can I track the location of my eBike in real time?

Yes, in the case of a theft. If your eBike is being moved, you can track its location in real time in the eBike Flow app. To do this, you'll need a ConnectModule and Flow+. Your eBike is not tracked continuously.

What happens when my smartphone's battery runs out?

Once activated, the digital theft protection remains in effect even if your smartphone's battery is dead. Your eBike can still respond to movement with sounds and light signals and determine its location. However, you won't be able to receive notifications, see the location in the app, or use your smartphone as a digital key. If you've previously set up Kiox 300 or Kiox 500 as an additional key, can you use it to unlock your eBike. Alternatively, you can install the eBike Flow app on another smartphone and sign in with your SingleKey ID.

Will I receive a notification if my eBike is moved?

When in motion, your eBike first responds with sounds and light signals. If it moves farther away or more vigorously, you'll receive a notification on your smartphone — even if you're not nearby. To do this, you'll need a ConnectModule and Flow+.
