After the software update, my eBike with smart system no longer works properly, for example the motor no longer provides support. What should I do?

One possible cause could be that not all components of your eBike are updated to the latest software version. This can impair functionality.

To ensure that all components receive the latest software version, make sure that all components are connected to the eBike before the update. Regardless of whether you carry out the update yourself via the eBike Flow app or have it carried out by a Bosch eBike dealer.

The components:

  • Drive unit
  • Display and control units
  • Battery or DualBattery
  • PowerMore 250 (if available)
  • Bosch eBike ABS (if available)
  • ConnectModule (if available)
  • eShift (if available)

You can view the latest/current software versions for each component on our website:  www.bosch-ebike.com/service/software-updates

You can check the software versions of your components here:

  • eBike Flow App:  Settings > My eBike > eBike Pass > Components
  • Kiox 300/Kiox 500: Settings > My eBike > Components
  • Purion 200: Settings > My eBike > Components

You forgot to attach a component to the eBike before the update and want to update it with the latest software version afterward? If so, proceed as follows:

Update through your eBike dealer:

  • Take your eBike with all its components to an authorized eBike dealer so that a complete update can be carried out.

Update via the eBike Flow app:

  • Attach all components to the eBike and switch on your eBike.
-If you have activated "Automatic updates" in the eBike Flow app, the update is automatically transferred to your eBike. Then simply start the installation manually via the home screen of the eBike Flow app.
-If you have deactivated "Automatic updates" in the eBike Flow app, the transfer of the software update must be started manually. To do this, go to  Settings > My eBike > eBike update > Search for eBike update in the Flow app and follow the instructions.
