There are lots of aspects that every rider should take into consideration before saddling up on their eBike.

Faults on the bike

Regular service checks are important in ensuring your eBike remains fully functional.

Regular service

More riding enjoyment and an eBike that won't let you down: Specialist dealers can use the service interval display to set a regular service schedule, for checking your eBike. Mechanical components such as brakes, brake pads and tyre treads should be checked regularly.

Inadequate protection

eBikers who fail to wear a helmet are at higher risk of head injury in the event of an accident.

Look after your own safety

Wearing a helmet protects against head injuries. In-mould helmets offer good protection. During manufacturing, the shock-absorbing hard foam is injected directly into the outer shell.

First a trip to the supermarket, then a visit to a café with friends and a restaurant outing in the evening. Will your eBike battery charge be sufficient for all your plans?

High-performance power sources

Efficient Bosch eBike batteries enable ranges of more than 100 kilometres to be achieved with one battery charge. For long distances or steep climbs, a replacement battery can be taken along on the ride. Alternatively, you may decide on an eBike with DualBattery system right from the start. In addition, you can use the eBike range assistant before longer trips to find out how far your eBike battery will take you.

The dangers of manipulation

Anyone who tampers with an eBike by tuning it not only endangers their own safety, but also risks provoking policies that include more stringent eBike regulations and future bans.

Making tuning an unattractive option

The software of the Bosch eBike systems can recognise when a pedelec has been manipulated and switches to emergency mode. This reduces support, protects the system and discourages manipulation.

Feeling unsteady on the bike

An eBike is more than just a bike, because the electric support gives you a noticeable boost. The sudden boost and handling characteristics of your eBike may feel unfamiliar at first.

Training for a more secure feeling

Take your time to get used to your eBike and how it handles. In addition, many specialist dealers offer helpful rider safety training. The Bosch eBike Systems website also provides pointers for beginners. You will find more information here.

Incorrect starting

Incorrect starting is a common cause of error with dangerous consequences.

Supporting technology

The automatic eShift solutions for hub gear systems, make sure you move off in the right starting gear. It enables a smooth start and optimum acceleration. eShift is available for eBikes with the Bosch eBike System 2.

Spontaneous braking

Whether on firm asphalt or slippery gravel paths: anyone who needs to brake sharply in unexpected situations must have safety and control.

Safer stopping

The Bosch eBike ABS lets you brake with greater safety and confidence. It can prevent the front wheel from locking and help stop the wheels from slipping. You remain safely in the saddle even during sudden, heavy braking – whether you are on firm asphalt or slippery gravel paths.

Distraction in traffic

Cyclists who get distracted are a risk to themselves and others. Riding behaviour is particularly affected by the use of a smartphone.

Relevant info and safer operation

The SmartphoneGrip lets you turn your smartphone into an eBike display. Connected to the control unit via Bluetooth, you can control the display on the eBike Flow app while keeping both hands on the handlebars: This support with important information during your ride, helps you travel more safely and more focus. Beyond that, however, the following principle always applies: observe the traffic closely and follow the rules.

Theft

Unfortunately, eBikes are also popular with thieves. When you are travelling by eBike, you also want a sense of security when parking it.

Additional theft protection for your eBike

In addition to a mechanical lock, you can improve theft protection of your eBike with innovative products and features. For example, with eBike Alarm - the alarm function for your eBike. If a thief tries to tamper with your eBike, eBike Alarm will respond with deterrent alarm signals. If this isn't enough to put them off, and your eBike is moved significantly, tracking is automatically activated and you will receive a message on your smartphone.
