Bosch eBike products

Pioneering innovation

Bosch eBike systems features an extensive portfolio for electric bikes - from highly efficient drive units (motor and gearbox) to powerful batteries and smart on-board computers. As a company, Bosch eBike systems sets new standards with groundbreaking innovations like the world's first all-in-one on-board computer Nyon, the Performance Line CX, a drive specially developed for mountain bikers, or the first ever series-production ABS for pedelecs.

Always one step ahead

Bosch eBike systems was founded in 2009, with the first drive system already launching at Eurobike in 2010. Since then, eBikes have been "epowered by Bosch". Right from the start, Bosch benefited from the experience gained in the automotive and motorcycle sectors and its great repository of technological expertise.

The start-up soon became a global player and is now trusted by more than 100 leading bicycle brands. The high-quality, reliable systems from Bosch eBike have been creating a world of riding enjoyment for many years. Drive units, on-board computers, batteries, chargers and accessories: the constant supply of innovative products make modern eBiking easier, more dynamic and safer than ever before. Bosch is setting new standards with pioneering innovations, such as Nyon, the world's first all-in-one on-board computer, the Performance Line CX for eMTBs, or the first production-ready ABS for pedelecs. Now, in 2019, Bosch eBike systems is celebrating its 10th anniversary - still maintaining the agility and spirit of a start-up, combined with the power of a global corporation. We continue to set the standard for the future of bicycle mobility. This is the basis for our continued success and ability to attract many, many new eBike fans.

The first drive: a success story takes flight

2011 marked the start of a new era: Bosch eBike systems brought new mobility and greater vitality to the eBike market with a drive system that could be used just as easily for relaxed cruising or sporty outings. The first system was already capable of adapting flexibly to every riding style and situation - a quality that has distinguished all drive units of the brand ever since. From trekking to city use: 50 Nm of torque, support up to 20 mph, the right choice of riding modes and the sensitive 3-sensor technology inspired users and attracted new target groups to eBiking, marking the start of a success story.
This drive was not available in North America.

Focusing on the user: the clearly laid out Intuvia display

Bosch eBike systems presented a new on-board computer in 2012: Intuvia – the clue is in the name! Intuvia made riding the eBike even easier and more comfortable. The intuitive on-board computer marked the start of a concept that has since come to distinguish Bosch eBike systems. The separate control unit allowed the required riding mode to be selected. The display showed all the key information, a USB port for the smartphone turned Intuvia into a control centre for people on the move. In addition to its user friendliness, Intuvia still stands for harmonious partnership between eBike and rider.

Something for the growing eBike fan base: Active and Performance Line

2013: Bosch eBike systems is expanding its range of drive units and addressing the needs of eBikers even more precisely with the new Active Line and Performance Line drive systems. Whether you choose a relaxed pace on your way to work or a sporty style when riding off-road: The improved design means the new drive units can be better integrated as part of the bike. With five riding modes each, 3-sensor technology and impressive torques, they offer the perfect ""built-in tailwind"" on every tour. Since then, the drive units have always offered perfectly proportioned pedal support, the current high point being the Performance Line CX, developed especially for eMountain bikers.
