Connection failed

If you have trouble connecting your eBike for the first time, check the following:

  1. The eBike Flow app can only be used with the latest system generation, the smart system from Bosch eBike Systems. Check  here to see whether your eBike is compatible.
  2. Make sure that your eBike and phone are nearby and that both devices are switched on.
  3. Always check that your internet and Bluetooth are switched on. For Android phones, please also enable location services.
  4. Check the battery level of your phone. Charge your phone if necessary. If you have an Android phone, also check the energy saving mode settings on your phone. If this setting is enabled, Bluetooth will be switched off.
  5. Switch the eBike and the phone off and on again.
  6. Might another user already be connected to your eBike? If that's the case, follow the instructions here.

If you have already connected your eBike to the eBike Flow app, but the home screen says your eBike is not connected, check the following:

  1. Make sure that your eBike and phone are nearby and that both devices are switched on.
  2. Always make sure that the eBike Flow app is running in the background. The app uses hardly any additional data volume or power when running in the background.
  3. Always check that your internet and Bluetooth are switched on. Check the Bluetooth settings on your phone to see whether it is connected to the eBike with the smart system.
  4. For Android phones, please also enable location services.
  5. Check the battery level of your phone. Charge your phone if necessary. If you have an Android phone, also check the energy saving mode settings on your phone. If this setting is enabled, your Bluetooth may be turned off.
  6. Switch the eBike and the phone off and on again.
  7. Does the Flow app tell you to "ignore" the device? If so, proceed as follows:
  • Go to the Bluetooth settings in your phone
  • Find eBike with the smart system in the list of devices
  • Tap on the i or cogwheel icon on the right side.
  • Select Ignore this device and confirm your selection.
Then pair again using the eBike Flow app (see here).
If this still doesn't solve the problem, you can also remove your eBike in the Flow app.
Go to  Settings > My eBike > Reset & remove > Remove eBike.

Note: If you remove the eBike from the Flow app, custom settings such as riding modes will also be removed.
