eMTB Mode

More boost on the mountain. The Uphill Flow.

Every mountain is unique. Every trail a challenge. And in the flow, it's not all downhill. Because the eMTB mode gives you a boost when you are riding uphill. Always optimally adapted to you, the slope and the terrain – whether stones, roots or steps. With this riding mode, which you can select via your display, you get a unique riding sensation for a fun eMTB ride. We call it Uphill Flow.

The gradient and the terrain vary constantly. The eMTB mode gets you moving in all riding situations. On gentle slopes, it sensitively delivers the right amount of support from the drive system. In steep slopes it provides you with powerful support over obstacles and gives you more control. However much power you need: The sensor-controlled eMTB mode recognizes it in a flash by the pedal pressure.

For your unique eMTB experience

Focus on the flow: Dynamically increasing support

A trail changes with every mile you conquer with your bike. Sometimes the path becomes steeper, sometimes rockier: In every situation, the eMTB mode adapts its support perfectly to you and the terrain – dynamic, increasing and with maximum sensitivity. You focus on the flow and enjoy the natural riding sensation, the eMTB mode optimizes your trail performance.

Full speed uphill: 85 newton meter torque

The climb to the top takes energy, but don't worry: The extra push of the Performance Line CX takes the strain off your muscles. The engine unleashes its maximum power of 85 newton meters when you need it. This way you go higher and enjoy the view in a relaxed way.

With ease on demanding routes: The Extended Boost

Roots, thick branches or steep sections with loose terrain: In particularly tricky situations on the trail, the Extended Boost helps you. With a targeted pressure on the pedal, the function provides the kick you need – and before you know it, you've passed the obstacle.

Control

A little kick is all it takes to master challenging obstacles with powerful support or to accelerate out of curves.

Get further

On relaxed sections, your battery is conserved – and you save energy so that you can go further.

Always in the flow

Your drive knows on which uphill you need more power. You just have to enjoy your flow.

Kickstart on the mountain

Short break on a steep climb? The eMTB mode makes it easier for you to start off afterwards – with strong support even when starting from a standstill.

Technology in detail

eMTB mode for power and control

The eMTB mode provides you with targeted support for eMTB riding and always delivers power right when you need it. Whether on steep sections or individual obstacles. This is precisely when it mobilizes up to 340 percent of its own power and a maximum torque of 85 newton meters. This is how the power for the Uphill Flow is created.

How much power the eMTB mode provides depends on the pedal pressure. Sensors measure more than 1,000 times per second to achieve the optimal motor response: A fast, but particularly sensitive power development that adapts to your needs. Because maximum torque is available over a very wide cadence range, you'll make better progress in any riding situation.

Extended Boost overcomes obstacles

Whatever challenges the trail has in store for you: The Extended Boost helps you deal with them. With the clever function of the Extended Boost, technical sections can be crossed with confidence and roots, thick branches or steps can be overcome without any problems. For that decisive and carefully measured push, all you need to do is press the pedal when you need it.

As a function of eMTB mode, Extended Boost releases power dynamically. The boost can be optimally controlled and pedal jams can be easily prevented. This benefits pedal management as well as handling.

What our athletes have to say about eMTB mode

Nathalie Schneitter

Experience

"I like tricky climbs that challenge me technically. Climbs that require a lot of intuition. The most rewarding eMTB mode experience is managing a way uphill that I previously thought was impossible."

Greta Weithaler

Confirmation

"Uphill, before tight curves or high drop-offs, I sometimes doubt if it's possible to do – and the next moment I've moved on without a problem. The eMTB mode is so much fun because it lets me overcome uphill obstacles with ease."

Tracy Moseley

Enjoyment

"How much support do I need? Which mode is the right one? It doesn't matter. The eMTB mode always supports me just right, so I don't have to think much about it and can enjoy the ride."

Kathi Kuypers

Trust

"I ride in eMTB mode 90 percent of the time because I trust it 100 percent. I'm not surprised with too much power or not enough push, that gives me confidence. I also trust the eMTB mode for big jumps."

Stefan Schlie

Magic

"The bike magically sticks to your foot, even in steep riding situations up the mountain. In my riding technique training sessions, I show what new situations are made possible by eMTB mode – and what fun it is."

Jérôme Clementz

Momentum

"The eMTB mode extends the feeling of Uphill Flow, throughout the ride I feel the momentum on my side – and I go even further because the energy is perfectly metered."
