Q&A of market increase in New Zealand

Hear from the Bosch team about the business, plans for the New Zealand market and product innovations on the horizon!

Why has Bosch increased its presence in New Zealand?

New Zealand has great natural environment and infrastructure for cycling. It caters to all types of riders, especially mountain bikers, people seeking health benefits or general enjoyment, as well as tour cyclists who wants to discover the New Zealand natural scenery on a bicycle.

Despite of the fast emerging eBike market of Pedelecs in New Zealand, our customers and overall brand awareness is still expanding, and growing quickly. This was the logical next step to support this growth and fulfil customer expectations by offering the proven Bosch service concept to that region.

What does this mean for Dealers?

Dealers will profit from the direct access to Bosch's service offering via regular dealer training sessions from Bosch, service hotlines, spare part order/ delivery, warranty claim process by service partners. Dealers will have access to comprehensive and immediate support.

Why is the Bosch System ideal for New Zealand riders/ riding conditions?

Bosch has comprehensive product portfolio to meet different riding needs. From city riders with relaxed riding and commuting behavior on paved roads to the extreme sport riders over challenging terrain on dirt tracks.

We are currently seeing an increased demand for eMTB, with our Performance Line CX being our response. With a maximum torque of 75Nm and perfectly dosed support up to 300%, the Performance Line CX is the powerful drive unit for ambitious sportsmen and experienced eBikers. Through the specifically developed eMTB mode, the rider will always experience a precise amount of required power at the right moment.

What are the plans for the next 12 months?

We have just finished the First Bosch Dealer Tour in New Zealand's major cities including Auckland, Wellington, Taupo, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin, where more than 150 dealers received training. From May this year, Bosch will expand their dealer training camps to include more cities across New Zealand, to provide a face-to-face, hands-on training experience. As well as our servicing support, we will be selecting the best products from our portfolio, in partnership with our top customers to ensure they are tailored to New Zealand environment and regulations. We will look to expand this offering over time.
