Staying active at any age
The eBike offers you greater flexibility
For both young and old, eBikes make healthy exercise part of everyday life. For Runhild Reinhard, eBiking means a better quality of life.
Living life. City life.
Staying fit and active. For Runhild Reinhard, it goes without saying. At 65, the former competitive athlete has no intention of giving up healthy exercise. So, for the last few years she's been regularly riding an eBike. With it, she can easily climb even the steepest slopes of Stuttgart, her hometown – while heading into the countryside or running daily errands. With an eBike, lots of things are suddenly possible. Intelligent technologies, such as eShift electronic gear shifting, make urban mobility particularly comfortable – like going shopping, for example. “I like being able to park my eBike right in front of a shop, rather than having to look for a parking space,” says Runhild. Her eBike is her faithful companion in an active life.
eBiking protects joints and muscles
Gentle exercise with an eBike is ideal for people suffering from arthritis, for example, or following knee or hip surgery. “The person's body weight is predominantly supported by the saddle, handlebars and pedals,” explains physiotherapist Elmar Radzik. “In the case of pedelecs, the drive unit prevents loading peaks at the knees and within the thigh muscles. This reduces strain on the joints, ligaments and tendons.”
Easily manage the effects of your exercise
eBiking allows you to control the desired effects of your exercise by adjusting motor support. This enables you gradually increase the degree of exertion required, precisely according to your fitness level. This gentle form of endurance training is ideal for those suffering from numerous conditions, including asthma, circulatory disorders and obesity.
