Bosch eBike Systems at the Tour Down Under

The Tour Down Under is the biggest cycling race in the southern hemisphere. In 2017, event attracted over 741,000 cycling enthusiasts across nine eventful days of racing and entertainment, and Bosch eBike Systems was there to watch it all unfold.

Bosch at the Tour Village

The Tour Village, located in the centre of Adelaide’s CBD was the heart and soul of the event, acting as a gathering spot for cycling fans and housing one of the largest Bike Expos in Australia. Bosch eBike Systems was present in the village throughout the entire Tour, giving fans the opportunity to test ride the newest-model eBikes and get inspired by the latest cycling gear. All test-riders provided very positive feedback on the eBike Systems, some describing their test-rides as ‘incredible’ and ‘an experience to remember’.

Bosch’s dedicated team of technical experts were also present at the village, to pass on their advice about eBikes and to get passersby excited about the concept pedelecs. With test rides throughout the Tour, the enthusiasm and excitement for eBikes at Australia’s biggest cycling event was obvious for everyone to see.

Bosch at the TDU Carpark Challenge

On the final Saturday evening of the Tour, Bosch sponsored Cycling Tips’ popular Carpark Challenge in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD.

Attended by over 3,000 cycling enthusiasts, the Car Park Challenge has quickly become one of the showpiece events of the Tour, with an amazing atmosphere only matched by the excitement of the racing and activities of the night.

Bosch held naming rights for the event finish line – ePowered by Bosch – in addition to key promotional spaces around the venue, including a dedicated pedelec test-ride area.

Bosch’s team of technical experts were present at the carpark activation throughout the night, offering cycling enthusiasts the chance to test-ride a range of pedelecs, while also providing them with first-hand information on the technical features of eBike Systems.

Bosch also coordinated a special ‘Pedelec Show Race’ between CyclingTips’ founder Wade Wallace and Andrew Gooding of VTWO, who took on the 550m challenge on two eBikes powered by Bosch. The race showed off the innovative uphill assist of the pedelecs and impressed onlookers as the riders reached the finish line with ease, much to their excitement!
